Teachers Celebrate Reading Dancewear Shop’s First Anniversary
Dance teachers from across the Reading area came together on Sunday 3rd January to celebrate the first anniversary of the opening of Caversham-based dancewear store, Dancia International.
In keeping with The Big Pink Shop’s image, pink champagne was flowing and the store was decorated with pink balloons and streamers.
Dancia Reading proprietors, Jude and Richard Chapman, said that they have been delighted with their first year of trading. "Some people thought that we were mad to start a business during the depths of a recession, but anyone familiar with the Reading dance scene knew that this town was in desperate need of a specialist dancewear store. We have forged strong links with so many of the local dance teachers, and are very grateful for their support over the past year."
Party guests, Jamie and Helen Read, Directors of Read Dance & Theatre Company, said: "We had no hesitation in asking Dancia to be the outfitter for our theatre college. They keep in stock all the uniform items we specify, and all this year’s pupils have taken advantage of their excellent service. It’s made life so much simpler for all concerned."
Monica Cleaver, Director of Mo’s Dance & Drama agreed. "We jumped at the chance of making Dancia International our school’s official uniform stockist. It is reassuring to know that we can refer all our pupils to Dancia in the knowledge that they will be able to try on and buy the correct uniform with the help of trained dancewear specialists."
