Pointe shoe fitting at Dancia Crowthorne

We take our job very seriously, and want to spend as much time as necessary finding the right pair of pointe shoes for you. With that in mind, we would ask that you make an appointment to have your pointe shoes fitted.

Whether you are just moving on to pointe, or would like to try something new, please either give us a ring or email us, and we can agree on a day and time when one of our pointe shoe fitters will be available to give you all the help and advice you need.

A Reputation That’s Second to None

Visit Dancia Crowthorne for friendly, qualified pointe shoe fitters.  We spend time listening to and working with our customers to find just the right pair of shoes for them.  Please ensure that you book a pointe shoe fitting appointment first, and come prepared by checking out our preparation tips.

Better Stocked for a Better Fit

When deciding where to have your pointe shoes fitted, do check whether the store stocks a number of brands.  The fitter must have enough options in terms of make, style and size (both widths and lengths) to get the perfect fit.  Here at Dancia Crowthorne, we keep an extensive range of sizes in Gaynor Minden, Merlet Cloe, Merlet Diva, Grishko 2007 (Medium and Hard shank), Grishko Proflex and Bloch Triomphe. We also stock demi-pointe shoes (sometimes called soft blocks or soft pointes) from Bloch, Grishko and Sansha.

Preparing For Your Pointe Shoe Fitting

Tights: Please bring/wear your ballet tights to the fitting session.

Toe Nails:  Your toe nails should be short in order to avoid any pain or discomfort.

Padding:  If you want to have padding in your pointe shoes, then this will need to be worn while we fit them.  If this is your first pair of pointe shoes, then we will select padding appropriate to the size and shape of your feet.  If you are coming for a replacement pair of pointe shoes, then please bring your old padding with you.

Old Shoes:  It can be useful for the fitter to see your last pair of pointe shoes so, if this is a repeat fitting, please bring them with you.
