In
considering a franchise, key issues relate to the business
being thoroughly tried, tested, proven and profitable
- not just in one location, but several, to illustrate the true
potential. In these respects, DANCIA presents first class credentials.
Dancia originated in Brighton in 1947, when it became the first
specialist dancewear shop to open outside London. The present owners,
Tim and Diane Kirkup, purchased the business in 1983 and developed
it considerably. In addition to traditional dance clothing and
footwear, the merchandise range was broadened to include garments
for aerobics and other fitness activity, a valuable market which
today continues to grow.
In response to demand from customers in other parts of the U.K.,
a mail order service was established, which is now an element of
the Dancia franchise programme. Growth continued with the opening
of shops in Epsom in 1984, London's Drury Lane in 1987 and Slough
in 1996.
They are all successful and the practical experience and know-how
gained in setting up and building trade at each shop is reflected
in the Dancia Franchise, to which this prospectus aims to provide
an insight.
"Dancia is unashamedly
a family business, therefore, with a capable Franchise Support
Team
who have a very clear understanding of the
needs of enterprising people who seek retailing success." |
