The 5th London International Tango Festival, presented by Academia Nacional del Tango (UK) and under the artistic direction of Takis Kalogroulis will take place the 13th, 14th and 15th November 2009 at the majestic 500 seat Porchester Hall, in Bayswater, London W2.

The festival, now in its 10th year, has been recognised as being one of the best tango events internationally and is once again drawing members of the tango scene from all over Europe, the USA and Latin America, as well as newcomers seeking their first taste of the dance, recently inspired by the wonderful ‘Strictly Come Dancing’!

There will be a full programme of three two-hour evening shows and also two-hour matinee shows on the Saturday and Sunday with ticket prices ranging from £25 to £40. Multiple booking discounts are available, and all tickets include entrance to The Grand Ball, featuring all of the 24 dancers, to continue until after midnight.

The performers will be giving master classes and workshops during the three days of the festival, covering all levels of dancers from beginners to advanced. They will also teach advanced techniques: women’s advanced, volcadas & colgadas and milonga & vals. Master class tickets are £15 for beginners and intermediate classes and £25 for advanced classes.

The event will feature 24 well-known dancers from Argentina and Europe: Osvalso Zotto & Gisele Avanzi, Takis Kalogroulis and Jane Solomon, John and Nina Krook, Eloy Prim and Analia Centurion, Hector Villalba and partner, Filippo Avignonesi and Francesca del Buono, Jorge Udrisard and Andrea Ponzetti, Andrea and Julia Ciafardini, Laszlo Budai and Maria Glotz, Eduardo del Rio and Elisa Vidal, Lucas Panero and Cintia Tinelli, and Giggio Pascualetti and Anna Zyuzina.
